In a Senegalese village, Penda and Moustapha have lost their 17-year-old son to an overdose. Despite his grief, Moustapha makes a radical decision: his son will not be buried in the family cemetery, because the reasons for his death render his soul impure. Penda will have to find a solution on her own if her son is to rest in peace with her, against all odds.
